Last August 1, 2016, Cavinti has officially made the Guinness World Records for the world’s largest sambalilo. A sambalilo is a hat made from dried pandan leaves. The world’s largest sambalilo was made by 133 people in 15 days. To make the 4th Sambalilo Festival special, they attempted to make the largest sambalilo. The sambalilo has a measure of 2.oom in height, 13.05m in width and 13.05m in diameter.
Swapnil Mahesh Dangarikar is the Guinness Adjudicator who was present to officially announce that Cavinti has the world record for the largest sambalilo.
We have yet, another reason to be proud of being a Filipino. Having the world record for the largest sambalilo can surely make a difference in Cavinti’s tourism.
