Apoy Sa Dagat: Thanksgiving Press Confence
Apoy Sa Dagat is one of the newest drama series in ABS-CBN. Last February 19, 2013, I was invited to cover the “Thanksgiving Press Conference of Apoy Sa Dagat” for it’s success on it’s high ratings. Apoy Sa Dagat received high ratings, when Angelica Panganiban and Piolo Pascual debuted as the grown up character of Serena and Ruben last February 15.
According to Angelica, Apoy Sa Dagat is so far the most challenging project she ever had. For her, it was fun because it was a good project preparation. She shares that at first it was hard to adjust. She brings notes and reads it at the car before she goes to the shoot. Angelica also told us how she switches from one character to another character, she told us that during the taping, she personally requested the director to do it one character a day. Angelica also said that she loves to add some inputs in the script because she wants to be comfortable with her character and so that she can differentiate what she can do and what she cannot do.
As for Piolo Pascual, who’s the Piolo in Apoy Sa Dagat that we haven’t seen before? Piolo shared that his character there is a province boy, not smart. According to him, as much as possible, the team thinks of something the actor has not yet done, and so he assured that we will see a Piolo in Apoy Sa Dagat that we haven’t seen before. “I trust my director” Piolo said.
So, can we expect new characters in Apoy Sa Dagat? According to Angel, yes we can expect new characters, in fact, last February 18, they were already shooting with some new characters.
Angelica shared that she loves Apoy Sa Dagat because it’s fast facing, it seems like it’s always season-ender. She told us that most TV series in the Philippines are not this fast-faced, so Apoy Sa Dagat will be a new taste for the Pinoys.
