Last February 08, 2013, Friday, I was invited for a food tasting event in “Kokoro Ramenya”, located in 2nd Floor, Avenue of the Arts, 1388 Roxas Blvd. cor Sta. Monica, Ermita, Metro Manila, Philippines. They specialize in Japanese cuisine. Japanese cuisine is one of my favorites! In order to enjoy the food tasting event and to make a good review, I didn’t ate breakfast nor lunch.
I am a fan of Naruto, a famous anime and manga in Japan, that’s why ramen soon became one of my favorites. And Kokoro Ramenya did not fail to impress me with their ramen.
The TASTE:
Meal
Well, I have no bad comments with regard to taste. I ordered the “Beef Shoyu Ramen”, one of their specials. It was one of the best ramen that I ever tasted. This is the second ramen that I tasted, most of the ramen that I tasted was instant, and when I came to Kokoro Ramenya, they offer different kinds of ramen, I was able to taste the other ramens too, the ones that my co-bloggers have ordered. All I can say is that their ramen is really good. So if you are craving for a good ramen, Kokoro Ramenya is the place.
Beverage
For the beverage, since I love milk tea, I ordered a “Matcha Milk Tea.” I’ve tasted different milk tea flavors, some are bitter and I don’t like milk teas that taste bitter. Since I ordered a Matcha Milk Tea, I was nervous because I assumed that it will be bitter and I don’t really like bitter milk teas. But then again, I got nervous for nothing, Kokoro Ramenya didn’t fail to impress me. I love the taste of the Matcha Milk Tea. In fact, I can’t get enough of it. It almost tastes like an ice cream to me. So if you are a milk tea lover, I highly recommend you to try Kokoro Ramenya’s Matcha Milk Tea.
Desert
For the desert, I ordered the “Japanese Coffee Jelly Ice Cream.” Boy, I love it! Honestly, it really tastes good. And if you eat there, make sure you don’t forget the desert. Especially their Black Sesame Ice Cream. I love it! I can’t forget the taste. Both are good. But if you already tried the Black Sesame Ice Cream, the Japanese Coffee Jelly Ice Cream won’t taste that good anymore, but if you tried Japanese Coffee Jelly first, you’ll notice that the Japanese Coffee Jelly Ice Cream tastes good as well. Bottom line, I highly recommend you to try their desert, the Black Sesame Ice Cream.
Salad
If you love salad, and loves seafood as well, I highly recommend their “Crabstick Salad.” This may sound a paid post, but it’s not. I just really love their Crabstick Salad. To be honest, I am not really a fan of eating salad, but this is an exemption, their salad was beyond awesome. I love eating crabs, although sometimes I have this laziness to eat crabs because of the shells. But with Crabstick Salad, worry no more with the shells! All you have to do is just dig in and enjoy! I will never forget the taste of their Crabstick Salad. Double highly recommended!
TASTE: 5/5
The PRICE:
The price is not that affordable, but considering the amount of serving, it’s not that bad. The price range is 200 bucks above, but considering the taste, I think it’s worth it. But it would be awesome though if they would offer some ramen at the price range of 75 to 150 bucks.
PRICE: 4.5/5
The AMBIANCE:
Overall, the ambiance was good. The place was peaceful. The fact that it’s located in Ermita, you may think that it’s not a peaceful place to eat, well, in Kokoro Ramenya, that’s not the case. You can enjoy your food with peace.
AMBIANCE: 5/5
The SERVICE:
Well, since this was a food tasting event, I am not sure how they serve people on normal days, but during the event, I can say that their service was spectacular. I really enjoyed their service. So far, the people who served us was all courteous.
SERVICE: 5/5
My VERDICT:
Overall, I would love to come back and eat at Kokoro Ramenya. I look forward to bringing my family there. It means that I really enjoyed the food there that’s why I hope someday I can bring my family there. If you are into Japanese cuisine, ramen, and to partner it with a high class milk tea, then Kokoro Ramenya is the place.
