A few weeks ago, I had the chance to join my blogger friends to a “QC Food Crawl” which was impromptu. Our first stop was Figaro Coffee in Morato, and this was our second stop.
Kamuning Bakery is located in Judge Jimenez cor. K-1st Street, Kamuning, Quezon City, Philippines. Kamuning Bakery started in 1939. They have been around for almost 76 years. The bakery is rich with history. They are the oldest authentic pugon (wood-fire oven) bakery. They have breads which are not available anymore. I can’t even remember the names. But I do remember the Pan de Suelo. Pan de Suelo means a bread that has been cooked on the floor of a wood-fired oven. Hence, the name.
I also love their vintage coffee. The Sagada Mountain Province Coffee. I added condensed milk to match my taste. And to be honest, I never tasted coffee this good!

They are also opening the “Kamuning Bakery Cafe” anytime soon. It’s just inside the bakery. This is where we had a talk with Mr. Wilson Lee Flores. He told us the rich history of Kamuning Bakery. I’ve discovered that a lot of celebrities or public figure loves Kamuning Bakery. Some are even Justices. They have been featured on paper, tv, name it! No wonder. (Their Facebook Page even has 20,799 likes as of writing this post! That’s quite a number for a simple bakery.) The vintage feel and the breads are #OnlyInKamuningBakery. The Cafe that they are planning to open has the vintage theme as well. They have the pictures of the original owners of Kamuning Bakery, items that are vintage like the old models of telephones, even the chairs and tables are also vintage.
If you are looking for original Filipino bread, this is the place.
