Cocina Juan, Quezon City Branch
Last February 11, 2013, I was invited for Cocina Juan’s food tasting event. Cocina Juan is located in 100 Maginhawa St. Teacher’s Village, Quezon City, Philippines. Cocina Juan specializes in Latin American cuisine. If I’m not mistaken, this is my first Latin American restaurant.
The TASTE:
The first dish that was served was the appetizer, nachos with different colors. It was superb. I’m also a fan of nachos and all I can say is their nachos is one of the best one’s that I’ve tasted.
They served different kinds of nachos with different ingredients. All of them tastes good.
If you are looking for a Latin American restaurant around the metro, Cocina Juan is a must try. Their desert is also a must try. Cocina Juan got some awesome deserts.
TASTE: 4.5/5
The PRICE:
Price is quite expensive for an average person. As a mother, saving money is always a big factor for me. The good thing about Cocina Juan, it may be a bit expensive, but the taste is good so not that bad for the price.
PRICE: 3.5/5
The AMBIANCE:
I love their ambiance. They have paintings all over, old empty liquor bottles. The design of the restaurant is very unique. I haven’t seen anything like it. The ambiance was really awesome.
AMBIANCE: 5/5
The SERVICE:
The service was pretty good too. The owner himself entertained us during the event. But for me, it took them too long to serve the food. Even for the appetizer. They could at least served the appetizer while waiting for the main course. If you are quite in a hurry to eat, I don’t think Cocina Juan will be the place for you.
SERVICE: 4/5
My VERDICT:
All in all, it was a great experience. It was my first time in a Latin American restaurant, and even though it was a fusion of different foods, Cocina Juan is still a must try.
Overall score:
TASTE: 4.5/5
PRICE: 3.5/5
