I have always wanted to have tattoos. For almost 5 years, I have always thought about getting one and what design if ever. I wanted to have my first tattoo to be done by someone special, or at least the design will be drawn by someone special. I know a really great tattoo artist, he was my grade school to high school schoolmate. I’ve thought of getting my first tattoos from him but I guess that the best things in life is often unexpected. I wanted a very unique tattoo. By unique, I meant no one else had that design. I wanted something that shows who am I. I wanted something strong, fierce but feminine. I wanted something that I’ll show that I’m a strong and independent woman. That although I am this boyish and nerdy, I’m a girl. But all those never happened. I never had first tattoo from someone special. I never had a unique design. In fact, it was inspired by a female tattoo artist that I admire in Instagram, @curiouswiji. But the spontaneity is what made it more awesome. I just decided and “What the heck! I am getting one right now!” I went to the shop, canvassed from the previous designs of @curiouswiji until I found “the one.”

My very first tattoo was done by Mr. Franklin Suarez of King Tattoo. I just showed him a picture of the design I wanted. I had chosen the “moon phases” design using watercolors. The moon phases symbolizes cycle. I wanted to stop a cycle in my life for so long. I wanted something to remind me that enough is enough. That it’s time to stop the vicious cycle and do something about it. Moon also symbolizes feminine power and wisdom. No wonder I was so in love with the design the moment I saw it.

The tattoo session was done in just 10 minutes since my design is very small. I didn’t feel the pain that I was expecting. Probably because my tattoo is just too small and I have very high pain tolerance. Overall, I was truly satisfied with my experience and I highly recommend Mr. Franklin Suarez of King Tattoo. I have no regrets.
