Last December, I was forced to change that number that I have been using since 2011. It has been a hard decision for me. The SIM (Subscriber Identity Module) card that I have been using was a community sim. UST (University of Sto. Tomas) SIM card to be specific. It was connected to several accounts, GCash, social media accounts, website accounts, account recovery number, and more. But since that SIM card cannot register to the promo I like anymore, and Globe did not fix it within their 48 hours time frame they promised, and of course, I want to save myself the hassle of going to any Globe stores, I decided to change my number. To make myself feel better, I told myself, “Well, at least, I get to choose my own number now.” So I went to a nearby store and bought a new Globe Prepaid SIM card. It’s true. You can now actually choose your own number. Note: You must use a low-end phone to choose your number. You cannot use Android, or iOS smartphones in choosing your number. After choosing your number, you may insert the SIM card in your smartphone.
How to choose your own number:
After putting your SIM card on your mobile phone, (Again, make sure it’s not a smartphone.) a prompt message will appear on the screen of your phone.
- Select a language.

You have a default mobile number.
a. If you like the DEFAULT number, just press “OK” and proceed to STEP 4
B. If not, simply press “BACK/CANCEL” and proceed to STEP 3.
- Start choosing your own number
OPTION A
Choose 2-4 digits.
Note: You have 5 attempts to generate number combination.
- Enter the desired 2 to 4 digits.

It will give you a list of available numbers with your desired 2-4 digits.

Press “OK” if you like the number.

Press “Back/Cancel” to re-enter another 2-4 digits.
Note: If your desired number is not available, it will not be included in your 5 attempts to generate a phone number combination.
Option B
Pick from a list.
Note: You can only choose once.
- Select desired number from the list.

Press “OK” if you like the selected number.
Then,
- Register your name and birthdate for FREE.
Follow this format:
Name: First Name Space Last Name. Ex. Juan Dela Cruz
Birthdate: MMDDYYYY. Ex. 04221992
Note: Register to use your number in case of SIM damage or loss.
- Press “OK” to confirm.

Restart your phone and start using your SIM.

After restarting my phone, I was able to use my number right away. No pain, no hassle. After doing some research, I’ve noticed a lot of people had problems with the SIM card. I think it was because they were using a smartphone. I highly recommend to use a low end phone when you choose your number. You can insert it back to your smartphone after choosing. Note: the STEP 4 did not appear on my phone, after choosing my number, the next prompt was to restart my phone. Still, I was able to use the SIM card right away. Overall, I was okay in changing my number since I got to choose my desired digits.
hi. can i ask what model of old phone you used? because mine keeps on saying that the choose you own number is unavailable. i tried it with cherry c2i, and it’s not a smartphone, but it still won’t work.
Hi. I used cherry mobile p1. As I have read from some forum they said it should not be a smartphone. I used a cherry mobile phone as well. It worked fine. Try calling Globe for assistance. Since c2i is not a smartphone it should have worked. :))
I bought this sim pack create your own number and im having a hard time activating it. Its been 24hrs since i started activating the sim and still not working, i used a smartphone btw. Now im thinking to buy another sim.
As I have mentioned in my write up, you should use a low-end phone. Not a smartphone. :)) Follow the instructions and I believe it will work fine. :))
