A friend of mine recommended a skin and laser clinic that she actually trust. This friend of mine never agreed to getting anything done on her face. But not with Luminisce. Since she really trusted the clinic that much, I decided to try to visit them last January 28, 2015. And I was not disappointed.
From the moment I entered the clinic, I admired it. It has an elegant look. The design is like what you would see in a 5 star hotel. It’s not just your ordinary clinic. It feels like a royalty just by sitting on their chairs.
The ambiance and the look of the clinic is truly a factor for me. It’s important to have that “inviting” feeling in a clinic. Like what I often mention in my reviews, the ambiance and the comfort room is important for me. And again, Luminisce did not disappoint me. Even their comfort room would give you that “royalty feeling.”
One thing that I love about Luminisce is the doctor. First, she was very beautiful and has really good skin! Which is very important. How can you promote your clinic if the doctor doesn’t even have a good skin? And believe it or not, she really has a good skin. I actually admired her. No kidding, she’s really beautiful. Second, she’s a THOMASIAN. Yes, the THOMASIAN blood is running on her veins. The moment I entered her office, I immediately noticed her diploma in the University of Sto. Tomas, Faculty of Medicine and Surgery. As I have previously mentioned in my ALA Skin Care or Wellness City’s Services Review, if the doctor is a Thomasian, then I would trust the doctor immediately. Lastly, she’s very hands-on with her patients. I’ve visited a clinic wherein I didn’t even met the doctor, just the facialist. But that’s not the case with Luminisce, before and after your treatment, there will be a consultation.
So.. you’re probably wondering now, what’s the name of the doctor? She’s Dr. Kristina “Kaycee” Cuevas Reyes, MD. She studied in the Top 3 universities in the Philippines. Which made me admire her even more. She studied her secondary education in De La Salle Unified School for her secondary education, took her Bachelor’s degree in the University of the Philippines and of course, she took her medicine proper in the University of Sto. Tomas. Dra. Kaycee is a skin and laser specialist. She completed her Diploma in Dermatology and Master of Science in Clinical Dermatology from King’s College and St. John’s Institute of Dermatology in London. She also underwent a visiting fellowship in Dermatologic Laser Surgery in the University of Ramathibodi Hospital Mahidol University in Bangkok, Thailand. So who wouldn’t trust her? Aside from the fact that she has a really good skin, she also have a very good educational background which makes her truly an expert in the field. You are in good hands.
Before the treatment, there will be a consultation with Dra. Kaycee. You can tell her all your skin problems, and she will give the advice on what treatments you will need. Since not all skin is the same, this consultation is very important. You can expect extensive skin analyses and solutions from your very first visit. As for my case, she advised me to have a “Luxury Facial,” “Coquille Peel,” “Acne Surgery” and “Acne Clear Laser” treatments.
For the Luxury Facial, Coquille Peel and Acne Surgery, it was Miss Levy who assisted me. Most of the staff are trained for 3 years, so you are still in good hands. Literally. During the treatment, it felt relaxing. You can also hear a good background music which will make you feel more relaxed and er, sleepy. The Luxury Facial is a pain-free procedure which begins with a soothing facial cleanse and relaxing facial massage. (Miss Levy was really good at the massage.) The Luxury Facial offers skin-nourishing vitamins which are absorbed into the skin via sonophoresis, a process wherein ultrasound waves seep nutrients into the skin, removing blackheads and whiteheads. Miss Levy told me that I would feel a teensy bit of pain, but I did not feel anything at all. She was amazed by my tolerance of pain. (I seriously didn’t know I have a high tolerance on pain.)
After the Luxury Facial, I had the Coquille Peel. The Coquille Peel will effectively normalize the skin’s natural exfoliating and hydrating properties by shedding the rough skin and restoring the skin’s moisture levels. The Coquille Peel is exclusive at Luminisce only.
As for the Acne Surgery, it may sound scary because of the word surgery, but it’s not scary at all. To be honest, I didn’t even feel or noticed this part. So I can’t really tell you much about it. All I can remember was I have two active pimples that time which they injected something to stop it. At that part, I did feel a teensy bit of pain. But it was quick. 3 seconds at most for each pimple.
Lastly, it was the Acne Clear Laser. This is to remove the acne red pigments. The laser was done by Dra. Kaycee. it was less than 10 seconds. No pain at all. It uses non-invasive Spectra XT Gold Toning Laser. It normalizes the blood vessels surrounding the wound healing process to lessen the inflammation and hasten skin healing.
After all of the treatments, there will be another consultation with Dra. Kaycee. She will give you some recommendation or some maintenance med, depending on what your skin needs.
My VERDICT:
Overall, I was satisfied with the service. The ambiance is good, the doctor was awesome, and most importantly, the service was superb. I certainly recommend Luminisce if you want to experience #Skinnovation like me.

Good day! May I know how much your treatments cost? I really would like to set an appointment with her and I just want to know how much money should I bring. I hope you don’t mind. Thank you so much. Take care! jamaicadenise@gmail.com
Hi Jam! Thank you so much for your comment. Treatments differ on skin types. You can call them and ask them what treatments you might need and around how much so at least you have an idea. It really varies on skin types and what your skin needs. Don’t worry, Luminisce is really friendly. You can ask them anything related to your skin. Hope you would enjoy your experience with them. Feel free to comment back about your experience! 🙂
