Arrogant Frog is a wine that proudly embraces its Mediterranean origins yet leaps out of the glass with a friendly and inviting New World attitude. To obtain the fruit-driven style that defines Arrogant Frog, its creator Jean-Claude Mas (the Humble Winemaker) selects the grapes from the hillsides of the five main valleys of the Languedoc region.

Arrogant Frog develos a modern approach to wine whilst respecting the Languedoc winemaking traditions – this is what they call Rural Luxury.
Arrogant Frog Wines are made by the Humble Winemaker.
As a fourth generation wine grower, he was born in a wine growing environment in Pezenas, Languedoc. At the age of 3, during the harvest, he escaped from his mother and walked 2.5 kms. to meet his grandfather in the cellar. This was a moment that he never forgot, when his interest and passion for wine were born.
At school and later at university, he studied economics and advertising, and wine became a hobby. No matter where he lived, he was always involved in wine: the north of France, the United Kingdom or in Miami. He was always in contact with his passion – wine. In his professional life, he gave 3 years of his career in order to satisfy his second passion: car and motorcycle racing, but very soon he came back to his first love: wine.
Today the Humble Winemaker manages 1,200 acres of vineyards and 2 wineries. He strongly believes that the vineyards come first and it should be perfect in order to give the best possible grapes for the best possible wine. Jean-Claude Mas is often described as a pioneer from Languedoc, belonging to the new wave of French winemakers. One of thos on a mission to give Languedoc his former glory back in a region where wine production goes back to more than 2,000 years.

I’ve actually got to try some of their wine during the launching. To be honest, I’m not really a fan of drinking wine but when I got to taste their wine, I loved it. Compared to the previous wines I’ve got to try, Arrogant Frog’s wine was the best. It was not bitter. It was really a perfect pair for the cheese they served us. Depending on what food you are going to eat, there should be a specific wine to pair that. I love Arrogant Frog’s wine. It changed my perspective about wines.
Do you love drinking wine? Have you tried any of Arrogant Frog’s wine? What do you think about their wine? Let me know in the comments!
