This holiday season, the spirit of giving took on a more meaningful form as Samsung Electronics Philippines Corporation brought creativity, connection, and inclusivity to the Philippine School for the Deaf in Pasay City.
Through A Galaxy of Giving: Turning Tables of Communication, Samsung’s Galaxy Campus Batch 3 student ambassadors stepped away from their screens and into a hands-on experience—one that focused not just on technology, but on human connection.
Creating Together, Learning Together
Instead of a traditional outreach activity, the day unfolded as a collaborative furniture-making workshop. Galaxy Campus student ambassadors teamed up with PSD learners to design and build modular furniture made from recycled materials. Using Galaxy tablets, they sketched ideas together, assembled the pieces, and painted the finished work side by side.
The furniture wasn’t just a donation—it became a shared achievement. Each piece reflected teamwork, creativity, and the joy of building something together, regardless of differences in communication.
When Differences Become Strengths
For the student ambassadors, the experience was as eye-opening as it was heartwarming.
“This is a really fun way to nurture our creativity while giving back to the community,” shared Yowni Cueto from the University of the Philippines Los Baños. Mishka Gotico of Miriam College highlighted how collaboration bridged gaps: “Even with differing communities, you’re still able to shine amidst your differences. We’re really able to come together despite them.”
Nikos Catanus from Iloilo Science and Technology University – Iloilo City Campus reflected on the deeper impact: “We slowly understood each other. We bonded even though we’re not used to communicating in each other’s language. When you share one goal, you can transcend that border.”
Empowerment That Goes Both Ways
For the Philippine School for the Deaf, the activity offered more than just new furniture—it reinforced confidence and inclusion.
Assistant Principal and Officer-in-Charge Mr. Jordan Madronio shared how meaningful the experience was for the students, especially seeing ambassadors learn sign language along the way. “These activities boost our students’ confidence,” he said. “They’re not just deaf—they’re empowered deaf people. What hearing people can do, they can also do.”
Samsung also viewed the initiative as a reminder that influence doesn’t have to stay online. Jun Guevara, Head of Corporate Marketing at Samsung Electronics Philippines, explained that while Galaxy Campus ambassadors are already strong digital communicators, this project allowed them to create impact in a more tangible, human way—by showing up, collaborating, and learning from the community.
What Galaxy Campus Is All About
Galaxy Campus is Samsung Philippines’ flagship student ambassador program for college students who want to lead, create, and make a difference. Launched on August 16, 2025, Batch 3 brings together students from across the country for a year-long journey filled with exclusive events, workshops, mentorship, and early access to Galaxy devices.
More than just a brand program, Galaxy Campus encourages students to use their creativity and voices for something bigger—both on campus and beyond.
Samsung Philippines President Roman Han summed it up best, emphasizing the company’s long-standing commitment to youth empowerment and education. For Samsung, programs like Galaxy Campus aren’t just about innovation—they’re about helping young people become their most creative and confident selves.
As this holiday initiative showed, sometimes the most powerful connections are built not through words, but through shared purpose, open minds, and working together—one table at a time.
