Recently, IBEX Global staged a fun “Cook-off” event, giving the media access to its world where having a healthy diet and lifestyle doesn’t mean slaving over a stove all day or sacrificing flavorful meals for bland dishes.
At the start of the event, Chef Joey Cebrero shared the recipe for a healthier version of Chicken Adobo, saying: “In this fast-paced world that we live in, people often say they don’t have time to cook. Mostly it is because people are intimidated by the idea so I wanted to showcase something safe and comforting. But just as we do it here at IBEX Global, with a little fun and ingenuity, we’ll find ways to make it exciting together.”
The media was split into three teams and were both aided by professional sous chefs when creating their dishes. With a dash of friendly ribbing, and an ounce of competitive spirit, each team presented their creative and innovative dishes to the panel of judges namely Chef Joey Cebrero, Michael Guerra and Robbie Burba of IBEX Global, who found that adobo is best served when cooked with passion and dedication.
“I’ve witnessed how this job can be tough on health. I’ve seen and heard people experiencing health issues that are easily prevented through proper exercise and diet. From there, we came up with an advocacy to help our employees stay fit at the workplace,” said Robbie Burba, Senior HR Director of IBEX Global. “We specifically handpicked our executive chef Joey Cebrero to curate a great selection of gourmet meals that support this push towards a healthier lifestyle,” he adds.
“Food always brings people together. So what we did was to spice things up and add a gourmet angle to our food story – this way, our employees can enjoy the scrumptious food and our chefs can be the ones to make sure that their happiness doesn’t cost them their health,” says Michael Guerra, Site Director of IBEX Global. “In our own unique way, we are creating an environment where our team’s well-being is always at the forefront of everything we do.”
